All the optimism here for this makes me think it's going to flop.

The song without promotion isn't going to cut it. it's very unlikely that parents are going to buy this single for their kids unless the scene becomes very memorable and that is entirely up to the animators and editors of the film. Plus it leaked really early.

Brit already got ha coins anyway. I'm sure Sony already paid Britney to promote Smurfs 2. That was the goal why they hired Britney.

Despite my original thoughts, S&S always appealed to FAR more people than this basic song for a kids movie.

I don't see any potential behind this song, who's gonna listen to it besides 5 year old kids? Like I said before it serves its purpose as a soundtrack single but that's it. Even RTW is better.

the 5 year old kids is actually an advantaje ..... because with her average singles she just relies on her regular fanbase and thats it.

with this song she is exploring a different new target ... the 5 year old kids who generally don't buy britney singles , and at the same time her fanbase will support her

which means, she has the 5 year old kids + her regular fanbase ..... because I mean, as a fan I imagine you will support her and buy the song on itunes ,right?

The song will be a moderate hit, and will far outperform recent soundtrack singles. It will reach some high peaks the movie release week. And if the song is used in trailers, which I think it will...it may give it an extra boost.

It won't smash like S&S, outside of Locked Out Of Heaven, Diamonds, and Thrift Shop...what else has? Let's be real. But it will be a nice holdover, and the critics have strangely eaten it up (but they seem to always do with Britney singles).

It is a cute song, that is fitting for the movie...which I'm glad. I was afraid it was going to be some tongue in cheek raunchy jam

Well, but in this case there won't be an album that features "Ooh la la".

anyways ..... lets pretend that in the US , knowing the fact the song won't be feature on any album , 800K hardcore die fans will buy the song to support her , and then lets say that 200K kids succeeded on convincing their parents on buying them the smurfs song.

that would be a total of a moderate platinum song , with high chances of entering inside top 20 on the Billboard hot 100 ... which is actually good for these types of kids soundtracks songs.
