Typically when one throws shade, it has an obvious target. Mariah didn't even phrase her comment in a way that made it sound like shade to me, so I was just trying to guess whom someone thought it could be directed toward if it was shade. Nicki was just the first guess because she was there. Why would Mariah shade someone in an ambiguous way that wasn't obviously shady if it was directed toward a random person who wasn't even there?
