Cheryl has suffered a severe media backlash in the UK ever since late 2010. She went from being the nation's sweetheart to getting death threats online and in real life. I would actually compare her media backlash in UK to Britney's. It is amazing that she still does well.
British people are so judgmental. Once they get a sense that someone has done wrong, they express their disapproval in the most extreme form.
