That "head over heels" line has been used so many times by rappers, especially Southern rappers. If I didn't listen to Rap so much I would've appreciated it more

I don't think she cares if she's a smash on Urban or not. It's the smallest market, getting smaller and smaller each month as Clear Channel close down more and more stations due to smaller audiences. Iggy will make her $$$ from Rhythmic and Top 40/M. She has that sensibility.

Anyway, UK is the priority market for Iggy, making it difficult to really compare her to Nicki.

Just how it's an amazing catchy pre-chorus hook that defines the entire song (it's where the title originates) and also conveys a story - Iggy wants to be successful, and will work damn hard all through the night. It fits in with the rest of the song, and is why Work is one of the best debut singles in years. It sells Iggy as an artist to a completely non-the-wiser audience in under 4 minutes, without the stereotypical elements you'd find in most other hip-hop songs. It's fresh, as a piece of music.

Even Nicki's best hip-hop/whatever song Moment 4 Life is bogged down by stupid bits. It's not cohesively amazing, but the amazing bits sell the whole thing, fair enough. We ignore the weaker lyrics.

For the song it is - a dance-pop club track - it's acceptable. But Nicki didn't write those lyrics. And you only brought this up to bait me, and make this into a pop vs. hip-hop debate. Which it is not.
