For real though, I feel like there's something off this era. It's just so weird.
And I'm praying so hard that She will flop big time with the Pop and Hollywood, so She will stop being annoying with that ****, tell Scotty to F himself. Fire Pauly. And doing whatever She wants, no filter.
I'm sick of phonies and this whole idolatry nonsense.

The RED era is about success. We all know She said She was afraid of peaking as a teen + every step taken this era has been to force Herself to re-peak. Unfortunately, when you try to be successful, it can blow up in your face.
The irony here being that in order to overshadow her teenage peak (Fearless), she had to make singles that were less mature and more teenpop than anything released during that era.

The article was published on March 15th, so with the 1D and Golden Globes backlash, I wonder why?

Yup!! You hit the nail right on the head Jake. She knows that other country artist have peaked in their 4th era, she didn't want to end up like the rest

Can we say that this era is a failed attempt to achieve it's main goal? Not exactly failed, but it really gives a wrong image about Her. And tbh, "Sacred & Superior" with a minimal promo like that, managed to sell 1M copies, that means people were slowly coming to Her. And with the MM tracks, I feel like, as SCM said it, they traded fan loyalty (come on, we know how many jumped the ships) and the appeal to the older and more intelligent crowd, for the short-term success (a.k.a coins from the lowest common denominator).
And tbh, brand's longevity >> short term gain. I learned this in college. And the Lord knows this. She was preaching about longevity. If She wants the $, She shouldn't have begged for longevity at the first place. Why ruining a brand? It's a hard job to fix a brand.

Yes, but we all know Taylor is an over-achiever. The question is, is she trying to achieve both??!?! and will she.....

As much as I despise marketing in music. Brand is a quintessential part of having a continued success, be it for top dogs or indie acts. If She wants Her music to remain relevant for years to come, it's a part of it, how people view Her. Her authenticity is part of Her brand. And Her audience is the outsiders, not the 'cool' crowd.
Scotty needs to remember this though: The kids don't have money. It's the parents who give them the coins. Wouldn't it be more profitable aiming for the crowds with $? Plus kids are fickle bunch as well.

Taylor benefits more from ticket sales than music sales, which benefit Scott more. She almost definitely would've had a higher grossing tour than the SN Tour, regardless of how successful the music was. I bet Scott pushed for radio hits that would benefit him, but I think Taylor genuinely wanted to have some smashes.

Obviously. Which is a pretty delusional mindset there. One can't have both. When one trying to be both, one HAS to cut all her quirks in order to achieve it. And the brand will be damaged in the long run.
Or, as what I've been saying all along, is it Scotty trying to cash in? With all the radio deals he has? Why didn't She stand up for Herself? Why couldn't She see it through?

Wrong. I admit there are bunch who whine about Her not being Crap Country. But there ARE folks who hate the MM tracks so much that they returned their stan cards.

Nobody really jumped ship though?!?! They just "proclaim" it cause of the back to back to back release of MM tracks. Now, if she rerelease RED with more MM tracks being singles, and if her 5th albums singles are MM, then everyone will start jumping. The thing that made Taylor so inticing in the first place was her ability to write meaningful pop country tracks without conforming. If she can hold onto that she will make her mark, and keep her career relevant

how can She stand up for Herself if we all know scotty has the last word. that's why She should not sign with him once the contract expires.

I know people who hated MM tracks but they're still stanning for Her. and that's why i think those people are really not Her fans in the first place if only after 3 MM tracks they returned their stan cards immediately, you know.

i don't know people who jumped the ship totally after that MM tracks also but I'm sure there are people who jumped ship after even it's a small percentage though.
