I think it was just the song though. The same commercials with Azealia Banks, Ellie Goulding (Anything Could Happen,) and Skylar Grey were on power rotation everywhere and did absolutely nothing for their singles. The music video came out at a perfect time too.

Actually in For The Record, she mentions Justin, saying with him the break-up was easier because she was working all the time and found herself too busy to feel too depressed about it, though she was "devastated."
