First of all, Payola is not legal! They're talking about a radio deal, when the record company pays the radio stations money to play the song a lot..

payola is the label paying radio stations to play one specific song on a heavy rotation, even if the audience don't request that song. A radio deal is like a lesser version of payola, since payola can last for months. One sign to recognize payola is the song being on top of radio, but no where to be found in top 20 itunes, or has extremely low digital sale compared to massive radio spins. Give Your Heart A Break didn't have radio deal... It took 5 months for it to reach #1 on Pop

There are differences between a radio deal and payola. I didn't mean to say the label used payola for that song, just saying its digital sale was so lackluster compared to its massive success on pop radio, and that's a sign of payola. Still, I doubt Hollywood Record would do that

We shouldn't discuss this here but GYHAB sold over 1.8 m copies in the US.. Almost 2x platinum.
But yeah HW won't do that anyway.

From the snippet alone, the song seems super radio friendly. The chorus is incredibly anthem-ic. It has that massive sing-along quality that many great pop songs have. She's definitely made sure she has something people can embrace. All the elements are there for this to do well. We just have to hope radio are open to giving her a chance. When people hear it and love it, they'll play it more and more. Fingers crossed guys.

Normally one day, but it can last up to 1 week depends on the label and artists.
