The #1 reason behind my username is the fact it's an oxymoron of sorts. While I can be sassy if I want to, most of the time I tend to be shy and reserved. So I figured it would be funny to have a name that totally doesn't represent me at all because everyone else has usernames that describe them, and I thought I'd go against the grain. The other reason I chose it was because I thought it was the "in" thing to make your username modeled after your fave. So I thought it went hand-in-hand.
Side Note: I was the original "Rude Boy", so don't dock me creativity points because I have so many imitators.

My username is inspired by the Kelly Clarkson song 'Addicted'. I was 14 when I first heard the song and I instantly fell in love. For those not familiar, let me introduce you:
Quote:
It's like I can't breathe
It's like I can't see anything
Nothing but you
I'm addicted to you
It's like I can't think
Without you interrupting me
In my thoughts
In my dreams
You've taken over me
At the time I first heard the song, I was battling my own personal addictions and the lyrics spoke to me. When it came to choosing a name on ATRL, I wanted to find something which best represented me and my passions, your name is one of the first things people notice about you, first impressions are key after all!
The song had become a huge part of my life over the years as it had helped me overcome my problems and helped shape who I was it was, so it was an obvious choice for me. It represents being so dependent, so in love, so obsessed with one of the things I cannot live without; music. I can't go a day without listening to my favourite artists and songs and with this being ATRL, where many people are also addicted to music (whether in a good or bad way), I thought the username seemed quite appropriate.
When people see my name and read my posts, they recognize who I am and they recognize the consistency behind my passion and addiction.
Addicted and proud

I have a couple of standard usernames I use whenever I sign up somewhere, but for ATRL,
I wanted something different, something new, that would fit the forum as well as represent me.
While I was trying up to come up with an adequate alias, I looked at my surroundings,
and suddenly my glance fell at my hand - and there it was.
There are two reasons why I got this tattooed and also chose it as my username;
one of them is my admiration for Lana, which is something I thought would be good
to express in my name on here, so that people would be able to immediately recognize
who I stan for. It also shows my love for the album and the song, which I think makes it
a more memorable and versatile name than "Lanafan" for example.
The second reason is that "born to die" is kind of my life motto. The way I interpret it,
it means that death is a part of life and it serves as a reminder to live life to the fullest and
do whatever you want, because you're gonna die anyway. [/kavish] Even without knowing
that, it's an intriguing phrase, and I imagine that sees it without knowing Lana and her
music will be prompted to think about it.
My username rolls off the tongue nicely; it is not too long, easy to remember and unique -
there is no member that has the same name in any shape or variation. Another plus is
that Lana doesn't have too many stans here, or at least not a lot who have a reference to
her in their name, so my name doesn't get lost in a flood of Lana song title usernames.
I have also never changed my name, not even after getting ATRL+, this name is how
people have known me since I started here, and I've been told several times not to change it.
Overall, I think borntodie is neither too generic nor too eccentric.
It has just the right amount of individuality and meaning to remember it
and unmistakably associate it with me.
Not many people actually know that my username actually came from Nicki Minaj's song "Superbass"
When creating the account, I wanted something..different from usernames I'd use in the past, and I wanted something kind of suggestive and kinky. Something different from the countless fan oriented names on the site. I was going to with SukkiSukki actually, but it really just sounded gross.
That's when I listening to Superbass, and that DripDrip part stuck to me like, *** on Edge's bed sheets. Like class on Boyonce, and homosexuals on Adam.
Not the mention the nicknames that I've gotten:
DeityDeity
LeakyFaucet
( By Matty himself )
DripSqured
DropDrop
Dripping Wet
(My new.....adult film coming out this Summer)
Of course no one's going to think of DripDrip actually meaning when a girl's wet, like how she refers to in the song, and that's why I love it. It's really out there and suggestive and a lot of ways, like myself.

When my brother first introduced me to ATRL, he kept telling me to make my username simple and something I would love because I would have to pay to change it. I originally wanted my name to be "Hazel" in honor of a very close friend of mine who unfortunately lost her life in a drunk driving accident around the time, but as I was actually making my account other things happened and the idea slipped my mind. The day I decided to create my account, I was illegally watching episodes of the show "Heroes" online (how Mexican of me ), and I saw an episode with a women who has the ability to see sounds as colors and each represented an emotion. I thought it was cool, unique, and beautiful, and since this is a music forum I decided to settle for the name "Energy" as a word representing that power and music.
I love my username, and I'm glad I chose it. I believe it sets me apart because of it's story and how easy it can be remembered. Seeing the word Energy can evoke all sorts of random thoughts. And I believe that my username may have that effect on other members. And I'm also a dynamic person, so the mystique of the word works well with my personality, I believe. People can also identify my name with my superhero/fight scene/action avatars I love to represent myself with. If I ever purchase ATRL+ I don't think I would change it because it fits me so well.

I remember when I first joined ATRL last September. Everyday since January I remember clicking "Join ATRL", hopeful that registration was finally open. Everyday I was defeated. *Click* "registration is not open" *click* "registration is not open" *click* "registration is not open".
One day I clicked ... and I finally got my chance to join the website that had become so involved in my life for the past two years. The registration form asked me for my username and my information. "Yella" came to me first, I have used "Yella" a lot as an online persona for various internet games. But I didn't like it by itself, so I added "Theo" to the front, a shortened version of my middle name. Still not satisfied. And then, intuitively, "Jukebox" came to my mind. I typed it out, pressed "Enter", and it was done.
It actually didn't take very long at all for me to come up with my username. It was very spur of the moment. But I love my username, because each individual piece of my name on this site signifies an important part of myself as a person.
"Theo" is short for Theodore, which is my first middle name.
"Yella" is a silly way of pronouncing "yellow", which has always been my favorite color.
A "jukebox" is an outdated machine that plays music. The reason I put this portion into my username was because "theoyella" by itself sounded empty, I needed the extra two syllables to complete the sound of it. To me it looks and sounds more aesthetically pleasing. I realized afterward that the initials of my username (TJ) spelled out a nickname I've always wanted to have. That was unintentional.
I also put "jukebox" into my name to emphasize how "out-of-touch" I feel at times, similar to the reason for my avatar, but especially with technology. I love the technological advancements that are happening in the world right now, but oddly enough, sometimes I get a little overwhelmed.
For example, I sometimes struggle to just use a microwave (), and its funny because I can be so knowledgeable about certain topics and yet feel dumbfounded by things which should be so simple.
One particular reason I love my username is simply because of how silly and quirky it sounds. It isn't as simple and short as the first name usernames, or simple and overused as stan usernames. It contains no numbers, and is all lowercase, a decision I made consciously. I think, for these reasons, it stands out.

There’s three Parts of my Username.
the First Part
The First Part is “Adam”, my real name which needs no explanation.
the Second Part
The Second Part is “AL”. When I was a young kid I read a book on Thomas Edison. It was a very short, kid-dy book but I was very inspired by him and how he changed the world. I wanted to be just like him. Fun fact: Thomas Edison’s nickname was actually “Al”, short for his middle name, Alva. I liked the fact because Al also begins with A like Adam. I was so inspired by Edison I convinced people to call me Al. Unfortunately when I starting going to a different school Al didn’t catch on, but I still keep a bit of the nickname by including it in my Username.
the Last Part
The Last Part is “4”. I have it because whenever I turn a page in my life, I add 1 to the number. I’ve been using AdamAL4 since 2011. Having a number at the end feels like a legacy that keeps growing.
about Username Recognition
People do Recognize me by my Username. Sometimes on ATRL I go into some of the TinyChat links posted, not just the Games one. When they ask who I am I say "AdamAL4" and they instantly Recognize me. Some of ATRL also Recognizes me by my real Name since no one else on ATRL has it.
Thank you for reading, enjoy your day.

It's pretty obvious that my username is directly taken from Pokemon. But why I chose pika as my username is actually pretty interesting. When I was still deciding on a username back in 2011, I looked to a lot of forum boards for inspiration. My username was originally going to be something like "Oblivion" or "EndlessDreamer" (Yes these were names I considered. ) but after thinking about it, I wanted something a lot less pretentious. I'm a big fan of Pokemon and own 8 games from the series in total. Since I liked Pokemon so much, I thought, "why not make one of them my username?"
So I searched on Google for awhile, looking at Pokemon after Pokemon to see which one would make a good username. None of the names really clicked with me. I was going to give up on the idea until it suddenly occurred to me that I was forgetting about the most known Pokemon of all time; Pikachu. He was one of my favorite Pokemons growing up and since he's automatically viewed as adorable, it was the lighthearted username I was looking for. I didn't want my username to just be "Pikachu", however, since that would be boring (like members who name themselves Taylor Swift, Usher, Nicki Minaj, etc.). So I took off the 'chu' and just went by pika instead. It's a cute, short, simple username that I've always liked and don't see myself changing anytime soon.
Why I think my username stands out is the same reason why I chose it; it comes from Pokemon. Having a huge brand like that attached to my username helps me standout because it gives people something to associate me with/remember me by (as evident by here). I also think my username stands out because it's rare to see a member so indulged in pop culture with a video game/tv show ~esque username. Most members lately are sporting "QueenBey" "Rihanna'sFaveFan" or "KatyKat2011" as their usernames, so to see something like 'pika' is pretty unique. My real name is Jordan, but I'm 99% sure nobody knew that. So as far as people knowing me by my real name instead of my username, it doesn't apply here.
Overall I think my username is unique, simple, lighthearted and cute. It may only be 4 letters, but good things can always come in small packages.

First things first, I spent my first year on ATRL as 'kittencunt', a name that was inspired by a fellow last.fm buddy and finally put to use once as I sold my e-soul to Joe and typed the username on the dotted line. I loved how it was a conjunction of two things I love () yet one was considered cute and the other vulgar. Two sides of me represented in one, Matty you understand what I'm talking about right? Fortunately, yet unfortunately, came the censor, which didn't exactly put my username in the best light whenever quoted or mentioned. I looked tacky, and a bit immature. But, thankfully, I knew right away what to change it to.
Fast forward to January 2013, after previously being too cheap to purchase ATRL+ until a discount was held, I decided that that was certainly the best time to snatch it and ring in the new year as a reformed member. After my + purchase and ascent into ATRL's privileged, I dashed to my user settings to backspace the atrocity and type in my newfound handle: Kitt. Short, sweet, an adage to my favorite species of animals, DC character, and previous username, I was settled for life on ATRL. Not to mention, I've always gravitated towards the simple single-worded name tags. I now wonder why I didn't think of using this from the get-go being that I often use the pseudonym, "Kitty Cartez" (don't laugh)...
But, the deed is done and the girl is happy.
No felines were harmed in the creation of this user name.

My username "Attitude" comes from the fact that my friends (in real life) have always told me that I am always extremely sassy. I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing, but I guess you can decide on that one. When picking my name for this site I honestly didn't think that I would be here for 2 years so I went with the username I have used on many other sites. That name was "Attitudious", at first I was going to stick to "Attitudious", but the fact that it is commonly associated with THIS I decided otherwise. So the name "Attitude" was born because it's basically a shorter and better version of my original name. Throughout these past 2 years I have come to love the name "Attitude". It perfectly defines who I am as an individual both inside and outside of this forum. I am a person who is strong and doesn't take smack from anybody. I can stand up for myself when I want to and help others when I can. The name "Attitude" just means that I am a strong individual and very self reliant.
I also think the name "Attitude" helps me stand out throughout this forum because it's very simple and easy to remember. I could have gone with something generic like "BeyStan17992" but that just gets me lost inside a cluster of other people with the same name type. My friends on here have also come to call me by "Tude" as it's an even shorter version of my name. "Attitude" is just simple and it clicks and is extremely easy to remember when I leave a lasting example on other members.
