Record-breaking ratings despite what might've been the worst single day for a series to premiere on (Walking Dead finale, NCAA, Easter)!

HBO’s Game of Thrones returned to its most-watched episode ever.
Thrones delivered 4.4 million viewers for its premiere at 9 p.m. and racked up 6.7 million viewers for the evening after its two repeats were tallied. That’s up 13 percent from its premiere last year.
Series High 4.4 million viewers
I'll post the full details when I get them
Good. I expected dis. It will grow to around 6 million for the season finale. Let's see if it can bring back the glory days of The Sopranos ratings wise. True Blood couldn't, even though the ratings growth was even faster and more consistent than on GoT.
I enjoyed the episode, I'm so excited for the rest of the season. I hate the Lannister's family with such passion (except Tyrion ofc), they all need to rot.

I wish he would do that to Malissandre so she can meet her fire god.
Let me start rooting for Natalie Dormer, she slayed as Anne Boleyn in The Tudors and now as Margaery Tyrell. She’s young enough to be believable a Margaery but experienced enough to keep up with Lena Headley’s wicked Cercei. She is soooo shady! I can’t wait to see those to go at it as the season goes on. PS, Dormer has a great cleavage.
.
They killed puppies after a year of having them, then a baby before oficially ending their training. So both. In the books, both. And what do you mean by mucking around? Tonight was pretty accurate...
The scene with Selmy was really not, although I can see why they would need to alter what they did based on the fact that this is TV and we have already seen the character.
Mostly I'm just still reeling from the abomination that was her Qarth storyline last season.
i totally forgot this was gonna premiere today.. although i have kind of forgotten what happened in season 2 finale except the Dragons breathing fire and that fad kid encountering White Walkers!! i am gonna watch it tomorrow and then watch Season 3's premiere!! so excited!!!
Just started rewatching the first two seasons before I start on season 3. The show is truly iconic and once it's finished (and IF the tv series covers all the books) I'll be buying it on Blu Ray

I don't think it's gonna pull these numbers but I hope it can scratch the 8M line sometime.
They should rise by the end of the season especially considering the reviews and hypes about the third book. That should also lead to its ratings probably peaking sometime next season.
Seems like Season 4 is practically confirmed. Yesterday's episode pulled the best ratings they've had fo date and the actors have already received the scripts for 6 of season 4's episodes

Gurl , this is not fast and the furious 5 this is about political , revenge , power , it's like to watch/read a living chess , there's no need to speed up the things
I just love the episode , it's like the prelude to bigger things...

I expected more development of the story since this was the first episode from the 3rd season. :

There was development, it was just subtle, which it's the first episode so duh. Cat and Davos got sent to jail, Margaery arrived to kick ass, Dany met the Unsullied, etc. The development is there, just not explosive... yet.
