I only found out about the song during the rate. I actually did a double take because it was so different from Thankful (good). It gives me 90's divas teas. I can't put my finger on it.
I heard the radio ad (I think official?) for the tour. They played Stronger in the background and praised Kelly as the "artist who releases hit after hit".
Didn't she say she once met this old man at a church where she sang in the choir and he came up to her after her performance and said she had potential and should make something out of it? I remember her telling that story a couple of times in interviews and she said that it was a really inspiring moment and she had no idea who that man was and used to think he was an angel or something? Maybe that could be what this song is about? Seems plausible.
"Old Man" is about her step dad encouraging her to go to LA and pursue her dream. She said during the pre-show before she sang it
