People have different ways of disciplining their children. My parents used to whoop my ass whenever I acted out and never ever took it far enough to call it "abuse". My mother hit me once when I was like 5 or 6 and cried more than I did, she never laid a finger on me since. She never needed to tbh; if I did something wrong, the disappointment in her voice was enough to teach me a lesson.

this is not abuse. Please...My Mom has told me far more worse stories about how things went when she was a child . That video just reminded me of how my family members and cousins were treated when they were doing something they weren't suppose to. this is soooo common in Latin/Black/Asian families. With the teenagers you see on the news now-a-days it seems as if ALL teenagers need ass whippings like this. Bye.

Ignore the fact that many non-white people in this thread have called physical punishment abuse but OK! And "getting whooped" is NOT alright nor should it be standard practiced anywhere for any reason. If it's part of a society or culture it's a part of that culture/society that is SICK and should be ended.

it's a little disgusting how some of you are still pretending that beating your children is the ONLY way to discipline them or to steer them in a good direction. There are so many non violent parenting methods that actually work, I think people just like to take the lazy way out and beat their kids (not saying that's necessarily bad). but this right here, was NOT beating. it's ABUSE. and if they are damn TEENAGERS and you have to beat them like this, obviously how your methods of disciplining them as a child clearly weren not that effective. I can only recall a handful of times i've been beaten (as a child) and it was NOTHING at all like that.. I didn't turn out with behavioral problems, doing drugs, with a criminal record etc. and I know people who weren't beat at all by their parents and turned out just fine as well.


Yes I am an AFRICAN AMERICAN and I find nothing about this acceptable and don't condone it. This has nothing to do with my race, it's just many more blacks have accepted this as normalcy because it's often done to them or within their communities.

I received whoopings as child, but nothing as severe in the video. The father seemed like he had his own issues and was releasing some anger on the teenagers. This is borderline abuse.

Gyal that analogy is a bit delusional... There are children who've never had a finger laid on them and behave well because they know the consequences to their actions if they do, just not violence.

Meanwhile, growing up, I've encountered more children than I can count who got beatings from their parents and STILL acted a hot ass mess and misbehaved
