Madonna, recently signed to Indigo Records, has officially been finishing off her newest studio album. Today, our executives received a mystery e-mail from the Pop star with just this image clipped. What could the Queen of Pop be up to? It looks as if she is headed for a euphoric approach for her new album.
In the confusion of our e-mail from Madonna, we decided to call her up (yes, we actually called up Madonna) and she asked if we were interested in an impromptu interview with her... strangely unprofessional for such a legendary woman, but she commented back by saying "I want to mix it up, go against the grain; I'm tired of doing things the traditional way." Who'd have known Madonna was one to do things in her own way?
Billboard: So, Madonna... you've been working on your latest album.
Madonna: I have, indeed. I have been having a great time, working with many new people. That's the best part about being a musician, getting to work with new people all the time.
Billboard: How's the album shaping up, what can we expect?
Madonna: It's turning out to be one of my favorites. I've been on an inspirational binge lately. It's been bringing me back to the same introspective area I covered with works like Ray of Light. I was shocked that this part of me stayed intact all these years! *laughs*
Billboard: So, a modern-day Ray of Light, huh? We must say we're excited. It's been brought to our attention that you've been working with Ke$ha recently, what's the deal on this?
Madonna: I'm very glad I've been working with this young woman. Many would see her as a silly or immature person to work with, but I also think her new album has sort of changed the perception about her. She's extremely talented. So is her boyfriend. I love them both!
Billboard: So you've also been working with Calvin Harris?
Madonna: *smiles* You could say that. I'm back with William Orbit, as well. We made more appealing dance music with MDNA, but this time around you'll definitely be seeing something...well... more meaningful.
Billboard: What about your newest label mates, just recently signed? Any plans of working with them?
Madonna: Well, Wiz is a little too crazy for me! *laughs* and One Direction... well, they're cute! Ciara a little sensual and urban, but I do like the music she puts out. I respect the music they do, and I'm sure they respect mine, and I'm glad to be sharing a label with them all; no plans for collabs yet, MAYBE if it feels right. I have yet to meet any of them besides Ke$ha.
Billboard: Describe your new work in just one sentence?
Madonna: Vivid, subconscious and out of this world, an out-of-body experience in sonic form.
Then, Madonna hung up the phone. I guess that was where our interview was meant to end.
Clearly, she's not playing around. Stay tuned for Madge's next move!
