Why did Almost Home flop? Seriously, nowadays your name needs to be Rihanna or you need to promote your ass off for a song to receive some ****ing attention. Watch Mariah releasing single after single til one of dem picks up and smashes and then acts like the other songs don't even exist. Triumphant who?

Anyway, I expected much more from her on American Idol. She gives very good critiques, looks amazing and all, but she's not really doing this with her "heart". It comes across as if she's just here to cash in dat money and do what she's contracted to do. Nevertheless, I still really enjoy seeing her on a weekly basis and I hope she gets her ass back in the studio in no time to finish off the new album. She needs to channel some classic 'ol Mariah and I think she could definitely have success with that again. No gimmicks, no trend-hopping, just a beautiful mesmerizing melody and her 5-octave voice.

first of all, there are no promos for Almost Home that is why it flopped so hard
she better release the lead single now and promote it on idol and elsewhere

secondly, she will definitely serve us ballads in her next album, she already said it in an interview

I think she's going to perform the new single on the finale and premiere the video on the show too, just like Jlo did.

Yeah, but only because she said it doesn't actually means she's gonna do it. She said a lot of promising things right before the Memoirs era kicked off and we all know that era was rather lackluster. As long as she stays true to herself, I don't think she's in any danger. She's nothing to prove anymore and can only surprise us even more, which I'm quite sure she'll do. Triumphant and Almost Home were steps in the right direction, but even she should know that the lead single needs to BANG. I just hope it doesn't feature Nicki...or Keith Urban for that matter, like a certain fellow Legend did with her new album.

I don't remember what she said before releasing Memoirs, and not to mention that she recorded its tracks after her miscarriage (I think it had side effect why Memoirs was a lackluster)

I really hope that she will release some big ballads a la Adele's and a bop for summer
