At the end of the day, the one thing that unites us all is our love for P!nk, hence we all hold her to high standards. Those standards themselves may differ, but our love for the queen does not <333

This. We're only picky because we love her so much and know what she's capable of.

P!nk wants to be successful. She won't experiment with her music, as long as she sells albums and arenas. Tha't the fact. And I think she likes what she does. Sure, she likes rock, alternative rock, but she has stated that you have to be in 70s/80s to record that kind of album. No one would be here for it, expect her hardcore stans.

That's true as well. Try This and TTAL cater to two completely different types of audience. It's not a bad thing that she made an album for the pop audience.

I love arguing with you guys cause it's all with respect and love.
And Miss was innovative, groundbreaking all that. Try This really wasn't. Linda Perry was right to drag that album. I'm Not Dead though is her masterpiece and y'all will deal. Aside from Conversations... What kinda Family Portrait remake.

Yeah. It's the same for us Madonna fans. We tend to be TOO MUCH picky sometimes
It's both a good and a bad thing:
1) Good because we know what our faves are able to do musically and we don't take things for granted or act as if commercial success is everything.
2) Bad because we tend to expect too much from our faves and if they don't release some masterpieces we are quick to say it's "sucks" or something like that.
At the end of the day i love all my faves deeply and i know what they're able to do so i try to not be too harsh on them. After all TTAL is FAR from being a bad album

If something is great, it'll find the way to the audience. With your logic M!ss would have been a mistake to release because it was different. Or look at the success of 21, who would have thought that a ballad record about heartbreak would smash the whole globe?
I'm just saying that sometimes it's good to be different. Maybe P!nk would be able to bring the rock back, who knows?

I don't really get the TTAL hate either. It's really a great album. Yeah it's commercial and a bit generic but there's WAY worse out there.

I understand what you guys mean. I do have to say though, that even if as a whole FH may be better as an album, I like the "artist" she is on TTAL more. There's a lot more variety and a few new sounds (the title track and Is This Thing On) from what most of he catalog is. Funhouse, while a great album, is Pink by the numbers. TTAL is her best commercial moments, mixed with some fresh sounds and a happier tone. Overall, I prefer the vibe on TTAL to Funhouse.

Funhouse is I'm Not Dead for the heartbreak kid. The Truth About Love is fresh and happy and sweet with moments of bitterness and the masterpiece Beam Me Up, her most emotional song. It also features her R&B return in the great Where Did the Beat Go? not to mention the title track, which is something fresh, new for her and the word I hate so much and you guys love to call Flop This, artistic.

And JGMAR, HCYNH, HCTW and TTAL sound nothing like her past work. Although HCYNH sounds like it could fit on Try This. I really think the album is up there with Miss and IND in terms of her best mixing of commercial and non-commercial.
Lets be real here, IND is amazing, but it wasn't anymore groundbreaking than this album. None of those sounds were "fresh" at the time either.

The Truth About Love is much more cohesive than FH and hence a much better album, IMO. Though FH has better highlights.
And Braz needs to STOP with the Try This hate. What kind of unforgivable crime?

She will.. She's been under record label orders for the past few eras. She hasn't been allowed to record what she wanted only. It has to please them as well. I know she has a lot of creative control, but it's more like, you're album needs to be commercial and have hits, now go! Like she gets to create it, but it has to be what they're wanting. I feel like if the labels hadn't been moved around, she might have had more freedom with this album, but lets look at it here..
I'm Not Dead - her "comeback" album that couldn't be messed up. She needed to have a pretty commercial album.
Funhouse - after taking a while for IND to become successful in the US, the label couldn't risk her losing her momentum. So, another commercial album please
The Truth About Love - after being moved to a new label with a new label head, she wasn't allowed to mess up being on their roster. She may not be new, but she was new to the RCA team. Another album to guarantee hits and success please.
I think she also realized, the more successful you are, the bigger your tours are. She LOVES to tour and to perform. It's where her passion is mostly. She will probably give us one more album like this (but I think it will be different sonically. Just still commercial) before we get the off the wall stuff. Album 8 onwards is what I've been saying for a while now.
