According to Nielsen's, the ratings were up from last year. There was a mean average of around 20+ people throughout the night. The show started sluggish with the iconic catch me being performed yet not up to standards. I kid...then after right by my side award was given the ratings skyrocketed with the 18-35 year old demographic repping the oldie barbz. The ratings peak during a surprise performance of Britney's Everytime. Magic was attempted but ratings declined after someone was inspired to re-created Britney's tragic 2007 VMAs performance. The show could not recuperate. Overall 20% above last years' ratings.
Note: not even a couple of ghetto stunts and ploys for attention starting petty fights could derail the success of the award show.

To be honest, Nielsen's ratings proved that your brief presences brought down ratings. We'll have you announce nominations for the press conference next show and then if you do a good job you can interview the real stars on the red carpet. Eventually, you will make your way back to presenting/attendee status.

So you get it. SHe NEEDED to get that out of her system. It was a set back but I think if there were two things that caused backlash to get rid of I would say:
1) Roman Holiday performance...If she would have given us the movie and it as a single yes but it didn't play. She just needed to perform her two biggest songs M4L and Superbass
2) Starships as a first single. SS should never existed and PTA should have been 1st as it has a cute rap and wasn't too sell out ish and over the top.
Stupid hoe ALONE would have caused controversy but the 1-2-3 punch really did her in.

It is. It shows that you can take from the past and make it means something different. The Jessie J copy was taken from a ANTM older cycle photoshoot by the way. Regardless, the video was necessary and there is NOT ONE SINGLE EFFING THING THAT I WOULD CHANGE ABOUT THIS REVIEW (I secretly know they got their hands on the treatment as damage control).
