If they release Rock Me it will either be a lame concert video or the same frenetic angle as their last two videos. They need to go back to their UAN vibe for one single before transitioning into a refreshed sound for album 3.

I have so much hope for the third album, it's usually when artists really re-invent themselves and have a major upgrade. I really hope Syco knows what they're doing and what sound/direction to go in.

TDKAU is never going to be released as a single. The fact that they're not performing it on tour shows that, I honestly think their label doesn't want it be released because some shippers relate it to Larry and they're aware of that. Their albums are selling just fine without smash singles so they don't have anything left to lose by releasing the fan favorite Rock Me (I just want Rock Me as a single okay )

One album selling without a hit single is not a trend. Especially when they DID have a hit single earlier in the year.

Rock Me can go into the trash bin with the other flops. I like the song, but unless it is a killer video with great promo it has 0 chance on radio.... and radio IS important. Artist's who don't think they need radio soon find themselves judging on The Voice.

I'm so flip floppy with them. I liked them for a couple months at first, then I lost interest, then I regained it for a couple months again, then lost it...I don't think my interest in them is stable enough to call myself a stan.

LWWY's problem is that it was samey with WMYB while WMYB was still relatively big on the radio. It felt redundant.

Little Things flopped because it is horrible.

Same here. I only really 'discovered' Girls Aloud in October last year, and yet I loved them enough to look back on their entire career and get to know each one of them. Right now I have that pit in my stomach from sadness that they have officially split up.

If this is what I'm feeling after ~6 months of knowing a group, I don't even want to imagine what I'm going to be like if One Direction ever officially call it quits. I think I'm just going to be a weeping mess for a month. But, we still have another three years (at least) before they go on their first official hiatus.

I'll die if that happens. This base will be a mess on that tragic day.

But my opinion on Rock Me is that, almost no fan-favorite tracks do well in the long run. We've seen this with some examples, like Kelly's Dark Side or like Kiss You (although I can't really tell if it is a fan favorite). And there's literally nothing else on TMH that can smash. An album that has longevity thanks to at least two smashing singles does wonders than one that happens to sell based on image alone. A single that is relatively close to being radio friendly or at least not add to the over-saturation on it is pretty key.

If the boys have said anything about it, I wonder what sound they plan to incorporate for their third album. I'm kind of excited and worried about how the label plans to choose and promote whatever will be on that album.
