Those songs are basic, hence why they are sucessful. Alicia does basic r & b, she follows the rules. And plus she's buddys with Clive, who's also buddies with the grammy committe so.
No one said Alicia wouldn't be sucessful if Aaliyah was alive, but you felt threatened enough to mention it
and get those facts together boo. Monica was never slaying ****. Aaliyah outsold her, had a bigger following WW, had more endorsments, and movie deals that Monica never seen in her career.
And Aaliyah is known outside of the urban community. She's not hugely known, but she's known.
Aaliyah DID only live to see 22, you know. Y'all act like Aaliyah actually had the chance to have her career blossom. She was just really getting started.
the fact that she's been dead for 11 years yet we still discuss her for PAGES on end on this forum further proves her worth.
certain ppl hype Aaliyah up too much saying "If Aaliyah was here still here beyonce would not be on top" tbh Beyonce was and still is better musically and vocally
