I agree sorta. I wish she kept the same aesthetics but sang or something. Her rap vocals are too gruff and a bit Lil Wayne-ish. Though I'd love a Nicki collaboration. Something like I'm Legit would be great.
I like how Iggy (and Azealia too) do different styles and aren't boxed into "hip-hop" at all, and have a fresh sound.
Nicki needs to change it up a bit, including her features, because whilst they're not her productions they will be seen as her music still to the mass audience, and she needs better quality control. Meaningless brag-rap and sleaze-rap are done. Nobody is checking Nicki for it. She needs to just stop.
I want her to spend some time with alternative hip-hop producers, and actually develop her rapping to tell consistently good stories with it, and not be afraid to properly crossover sounds. A good hip-hop track can appeal to a wide audience, not just urban radio. She should go into the recording studio with that mentality.
Less "Lil Wayne", and more "Kid Cudi".
