Well it's not ALWAYS true..... but anything below a certain threshold of controversial I would say is.
The whole Haylor controversy was really only an internet/tabloid story whether it's true or not. The general public doesn't know, doesn't care, or doesn't believe all the negative press about her. So really what has it hurt? Her songs are smashing and her album is selling..... sounds like a win to me.
The line where publicity becomes "bad" is somewhere around Chris Brown/Tiger Woods lol.
