I've known her forever and she was a sizeable part of my early childhood but I'm not really all that sad...

Your mom must be devastated why did she pass?

She had lung cancer that spread. She was never a smoker or anything.

Her whole life was kind of tragedy filled though so I'm glad she's moved on to a better place.

Her husband got hit by really bad Diabetes a few years ago, and lost his eyesight and a kidney somehow I don't know the exact details but he had dialysis every 2 days for hours.

Her +/or her husband were infertile and never had any kids so she focused on her nieces/nephews.

Thanks. It's sad but I was prepared for it since her cancer got so bad and the nurses warned my other aunt that she had months to live since the chemo didn't work. My mom is flying out to Los Angeles sometime this weekend for the funeral arrangements. I can't go because of school commitments

No

Kidneys clean your blood and if your kidneys don't work Dialysis is an artificial process to clean blood through a machine. They attach like a tube to a pre made incision on your arm and that puts your blood through the machine.
It takes 4 hours of just sitting there, 3/4 times a week.
