I thought it would do really well too. Remember when some of us were saying it'd be this era's YLIMD? Yeah, I was totally one of those people.
I'm bummed about the streak being broken, but I guess it's not such a bad thing that we won't have to worry about them worrying about keeping it intact anymore. There's less pressure now, so hopefully that will translate to more risks.
Yea, it just sucks that this was the song was the one to break the streak even in Australia lol. It is what it is though.
I think Only Wanna Dance Wiv you would be a nice neutral single next. It's not samey to C'mon and DY like Crazy Kids would be and it's not a mid-tempo which is imo ill-fitting for the summer.
If they release a song now it'll peak in May. We won't get another single til July that will peak in September. At least that's how I see it. Songs always take wayyyy longer than they should, look at Die Young.
But surely songs will peak earlier due to the inclusion of YouTube now
I don't think it'll really affect people like Ke$ha or others who were big digital sellers already and big radio monsters. It'll probably just cause a bigger debut if they play the cards right by releasing a music video with the single debut.
