I have seen people on here say this too many times and it still baffles me. Exactly, HOW is it a bad thing to have a classic holiday song in one's discography? HOW?
I would think an artist would kill to have a song, holiday or otherwise, that will stand the test of time not only making them a bunch of $$$, but being covered and remembered by generation after generation.
Are these songs worthless, too? Are Nat, or Frank frowned upon for having well known holiday songs?

I do find it funny how you act as if you can speak for everyone, when I know people who couldn't name 3 of your fave's songs. The fact of the matter is people still cover Mariah's songs all over the world some 23 years after her career began. People of ALL ages, RACES, CULTURES, and GENDERS.
Aren't you the same person who made that (appropriately closed) thread about Mariah having no influence? Or was it impact? Despite the fact that nearly every single singer after her cites her as an influence? Despite the fact that it's her vocal style that is extremely prominent amongst aspiring singers? You're only showing your own ignorance.

I don't think Genocide was saying it was bad, just that it didn't hit #1, yet it is the most memorable song in her discography.
If you have that many Grammys, you'll be known and revered throughout the music industry to people that actually matter over the public.
This is seen by artists who only have a few Grammys too, though.
Do you know Cheap Trick? I don't, and they had a #1 in the 80s. It goes both ways.
Ofcourse I don't know them, I wasn't even alive in the 80's to know 1 #1 song.
The same can be said w/ most people who won 1 Grammy in the 80's, as you said.
But the difference is: That song had to be known by milions to go #1, as a Grammy was voted by a group of like 20 people to get won so which is more of an "accomplishment"?

So you've never heard The Way You Make Me Feel? Bad? etc.
It goes both ways and depends on the artist, correct?
What? All I hear people trying to cover is Fantasy & WBT. Of course people do covers of all her #1's - but not as much as you're exaggerating it to be
anyway, as I said, her Christmas song is more memorable than all of her albums and singles combined. The only thing that my grandmother may remember is Fantasy - which even that is a risk
How old are you?
Without You and Hero are covered way more, especially internationally.
Like I said keep showcasing your ignorance.
lkkjnk// @ your granny as a receipt. Boy. My grandmother couldn't name a single Madge song, let me go make blanket statements about how forgotten all her #1 singles post 1980s are. This is you right now.

Both have lost their meaning over time. Anyone can literally get a #1 these days and the Grammys have kind of turned into a popularity contest. It's equal, honestly. It's amazing if you have 18 of any accomplishment.

Let's be real for a second.
1. Do you think I spend my time searching Mariah Cariah covers? I don't even look at covers of my fav's.
2. You're clearly hot and bothered Mariah fans get so pissy over small mess
3. You're right about Madonna And even I can admit that most of Madonna's #1, let alone her top 10's are forgettable - but she's not part of the topic, which is why I didn't bring her up.
