I like it for a country song The background vocals are a little annoying though, they make it sound too redundant.

Idk how to feel about the chorus but maybe the studio version will be different. Everything else is flawless though.

I know. I wish they would have cut the music down and we got to hear this then kick back into the song.

So you stan for the genre and not the voice then, I see.

I stan for music and Kelly's country music is bland.
Carrie and Miranda have great voices and I don't see y'all stanning for them. Bey has a decent voice and I don't see y'all stanning for her.
Your point?

Nice belts, I guess.
On an irrelevant note... I miss the soft, falsetto runs Kelly used to do.

She is not going to go full country though. She just seems so ADD about flipping genres all the time. Once her contract is up. I do think we will be getting less pop songs and more soul/blues songs with country as well.

I love Dont Rush because it has the soulful vibe that Kelly has always had since her Idol days. But I just hope she doesn't move on to the more "hillbilly"/Redneck country type of music...

Some mentions from last night:
Quote:
Clarkson wowed the crowd with her new single, "Don't Rush," and was joined by Jason Sellers who sang Vince Gill’s part. "He was amazing singing the demo," Clarkson said. "I was like, 'Holy crap! Who is that?" Clarkson welcomed the Pistol Annies back to the stage to sing back up on a new tune “Ain't Gonna Like This."

Surprise number one at Sony Nashville's annual showboat concert for country radio programmers Thursday night: an appearance by Kelly Clarkson. Surprise number two: Pistol Annies as her backup singers.
Clarkson's affection for the Annies is no surprise, given that she's done a stellar cover of their "Hell on Heels" in concert that you can find on YouTube. But the few hundred radio folks in attendance on the General Jackson boat still got a shock when Clarkson brought out Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe, and Angaleena Presley as her version of the Ikettes.
"Unfortunately, you ain't gonna like this!" she announced over the opening power chords. Fortunately, that was the title of the new song she was debuting, and not an actual threat. The tune name-checks at least a good number of her musical heroes, and does brashly declare that if you don't care for them, you'll get on the fightin' side of her. Sample lyrics: "If you don't like Bonnie, if you don't like Prince.../If you don't like B.B., if you don't like Vince.../You ain't gonna like this." Best line: "If you don't like Aretha/Well, I don't even wanna meetcha!"

SONY MUSIC NASHVILLE Pres. GARY OVERTON hosted the evening, introducing artists MIRANDA LAMBERT (with guests BLAKE SHELTON and PISTOL ANNIES), "American Idol" winner TATE STEVENS (with a special video introduction by SIMON COWELL), THE HENNINGSENS, JERROD NIEMANN, CHRIS YOUNG and KELLY CLARKSON who drew a standing ovation featuring THE PISTOL ANNIES as her backup singers.

Kelly Clarkson also wowed the audience, performing her current single, "Don't Rush," with Jason Sellers. She then took it up a notch, bringing out the Pistol Annies to back her on the funky "Ain't Gonna Like This," earning one of the night's few standing ovations.

Kelly Clarkson bounded to the stage wearing a T-shirt with the logo of Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE). With a joking reference to the revelry the radio programmers have experienced during CRS, she said, "I'm wearing the 'don't do drugs' shirt. Nobody told me about the alcohol."
When Clarkson performed "Don't Rush," singer-songwriter Jason Sellers filled in for Vince Gill, who provided vocal harmonies on the recording. Clarkson got some additional vocal assistance from the Pistol Annies when she gave the crowd a taste of her new music with "Ain't Gonna Like This," an upbeat song that name checks Trisha Yearwood and Aretha Franklin.

I can understand what Edge is saying, as somebody who lives outside of the U.S I didn't grow up with country music, I only started hearing country music when I was older so i'm not really into the genre itself. It's perfectly acceptable for somebody to like pop Kelly but not country Kelly.
Personally I really like both so I don't mind

I love Kellys voice, and her personality. Ill still buy her records, but I wont be able to jam to them anymore. Country Kellys ok to me in small doses.
