The Born This Way era had no longevity though, especially in comparison with TF/TFM.

I feel like Gaga alienated herself from the GP with Born This Way. Yes, it gained her a much bigger, and much more dedicated stanbase, but - to most people - she is yesterday's news tbqh.

She has yet to successfully re-invent herself. She hasn't captured the GP's attention more than once. The novelty of her wacky outfits is long gone.

You tried it. Apart from a handful of non-musical appearances in the media (perfume launch, weight, cancelling her tour and her injury), she kept a low profile while on tour.

I'd be more worried if she was getting into the swing of promo for ARTPOP with a single, appearances, performances, etc and there was radio silence. But we all know that that's not going to be the case.

It's not just on a bigger scale. Cyndi's career was like throwing a lead ball off a mountain, while Gaga's is more like a slowly-deflating helium balloon so far, if you get what I mean. Cyndi fell like a rock, whereas there's a good chance Gaga will remain very successful through several more eras.
