Didn't Borshitta said "Red" will be a single at some point?
I'm all for "Red" becoming a single, which it most likely will, but now would be a wasted opportunity. I do not wanna see "Red" released to country only. It could smash on lots of different formats. Pop wouldn't play "Red" and "22". I don't know.
To be perfectly honest, I wanted her to release tracks which radio might not play and see how it goes from there. If they don't smash she still has 3 million fans who buy her new album every 2 years.
I don't think Begin Again would be a strong entry for the Country field at the Grammys next year so they need to release All Too Well at least. Or the Lucky One.
I have a theory for BMR's choice for a dual release with 22 on pop and and another country single instead of releasing Red as a cross-over. Remember with Billboard's new rule change we all faced a backlash with WANEGBT and country radio denied to play it then with other format's airplay it had a 10 weeks reign on HCS. But this made things even worse and BA is affected by this backlash and had a slow chart run. I think BMR worked their ass off for eliminating WANEGBT's negative effect and probably they don't want to live the same things again with releasing a cross-over hit and dominating HCS again.

This. That's why I want them to release The Lucky One and Holy Ground.
"Red" could replicate the success of crossover smash from Fearless era, should have been lead or 3rd single. It's Country, it's Pop. It's Country-Pop. Perfect radio smash.
