i know right. i guess he was just hoping it would kinda keep itself going while he focussed on the motto

i just hope he actually puts effort into getting 5/6 big singles this time. he has a habit of getting lazy with the last singles from his eras. This. ATRLers are obsessed with rappers topping the pop charts... The only purpose of this single is to be played on urban/rhythmic radio to make sure his fans know he's got music out. Crossing over to Pop is just an extra.

Aubrey is the ONLY rapper that can sell bucketloads without any promo whatsoever. Like, he appeared on TV a total of probably 5 times to promote TC. I understand Radio is the biggest form of promotion out there, it still would be nice to see him on tv. Hopefully he comes to the UK soon

"Take Care" could've become the defining hit of his career, but it was shoved into the middle of "The Motto" & "Make Me Proud" 's releases. Who thinks it's logical to release three singles at once that all cater to the same formats?

I would say "The Motto" is his defining hit at this point. It overshadowed "Take Care" & "Make Me Proud" despite never going Top 10.

With the track's first verse Drake rhymes about the conflicts he had with his mother while he was still mapping out his then-uncertain future in music. "I done kept it real from the jump/ Livin' at my mama's house, we'd argue every month," he spit telling another piece of the story that he began to lay out on 2009's "Successful.".

OMG i was right. Drake NEVER releases on schedule, he drops tracks/videos whenever he feels like it. Releasing on a pre-arranged day/night ruins the element of surprise.
