I'm still kiing at the fact that Kevin thinks Kelly outgrossed over a 100 million on a tour.
The fact that she outgrossed GaGa's first tour, Bey's tour, Rihanna's tour, even Katy's tour.
You're a good troll, Kev.

I think her net worth went way up this last year. She had to make at least 15+ million in 2012 alone.

In the country world, it's never too late. I hope she gets to perform it at ACM awards? Did she confirm she is performing? When is it?

Kelly won 2 ACM awards last year with Aldean. When do they announce nominations? Is DR eligible for a nom?

I know the country chart is weird. I think her country radio interviews helped, this week airplay and sales increased.

ACM's are April 7th. She said she was attending. Nothing has been confirmed yet as far as her performing.
The ACM's award the previous year of music. The eligibility period for the show this year is December 1, 2011 to November 28, 2012. If the album was released prior to the eligibility period, but achieved its largest cumulative sales impact during the eligibility period, it is eligible unless it has won previously in this category.
So DR could be nominated since it was released during the eligibility period OR they could hold it off for next year. That's what happened to DYWS.

Would DR actually have a chance of being nominated though? It hasn't exactly been a smash...

DR got a lot of critical acclaim + being nominated would probably help it's sales.
Plus in that interview she said she has picked the next country single, so DR will probably be overshadowed by that next year.
|
I really want Kelly & Vince to perform at the ACM's!!
I was reading the ACM thread at Pulse and some people think DR will get a Vocal Event of the Year nomination. But then again they thought the same with "Don't You Wanna Stay" and it was held off till the following year. I guess we'll see how the ACM voters voted. Nominees will be announced Feb. 13.
I wonder when that other country single will be released? If it's her solo, or if it will have a feature/duet? The DR co-writer, Blu Sanders, tweeted he recorded a duet with Kelly. And Kelly tweeted yesterday she sang with that dude from Nashville. So....?

Country awards love to nominate songs that were highly critical acclaimed, even if they underperformed. Don't Rush had great critical acclaim.

Do they often sing songs twice at country award shows? Like perform on the CMAs and then perform the same song on another country award show?

They're two separate award shows so why not? I think last year Eric Church sang "Springsteen" at both shows.
I'm sure the Nashville Mafia can make it happen if they want to
