It's a symbolic trophy for the performer. It will in no way bring them down and likely it won't really help them either. Just another accomplishment, like receiving a Grammy

The BEPs took a break on their own accord, but they got a big hit : Just Can't Get Enough almost just right after the performance (like a month after). The Beginning sold millions and was more of a global success than a US success.

GMAYL was a megaflop, it didn't even go platinum, just like the 9 back-to-back megaflop singles from "4."
