There's nothing wrong with a Spring release, I'm okay with it actually. Besides, less competition to worry about.

Not necessarily, she could release a single in February and album in May. You just never know! I'm still hoping that maybe they change their minds and shoot for a late spring/early summer single release and album in late summer/early fall. Adam mentioned on the 8th that they aren't close to being done or ready with the album, they've only had a few recording sessions. We may be at least a month or two away. We'll see though!

Not really.

Beyonce, Gaga and Justin are all releasing their albums in Spring and you know they're gonna be going all out with promo, interviews, etc as usual.

And the problem with a Spring release, like i've said several times, is that it only works with artists that actually bother to promote a lot and even then it still doesn't compare to the advantage you have with a 4th quarter release. I mean, could you imagine how Rihanna's last 2 albums would've performed if they were released outside the 4th quarter?

I think late February or early March would be the best time for her to release a single anyway if this Spring release is really happening.

Just because will.i.am is attached to a song on album 8, doesn't mean it will become another global smash like S&S. Not to mention, Lazy J's beats and "it's Britney, bitch" are the only parts of the song people actually use, will.i.am really has nothing to do with it. BFB would of outright flopped if released as a single as well, y'all can stop clinging to believing it would of smashed as a fourth single off FF, not to mention it was performed live on TV unlike S&S yet still failed to crack the top 100.

I'd much rather quality tracks that sell the album instead of a generic smash that does absolutely nothing to persuade people to check out album 8.

Yeah you're right. But we have no clue who's releasing in the Fall/Winter, and what deals that artist may have. Worse case scenario we get another Blackout, best case is Circus. Until then lets hope she promotes this time.

And Rihanna would've had more #1's, its more about timing.

Considering Adam tweeted about a great start from a recent session I honestly see an April or may single release with a July/August, Sept album release. I can deal with a 3rd quarter release since she's release for every other quarter.

This. I defiantly think late spring. Plus it's not that bad of a time. She could get a summer smash if released at the right time. Which would help out album sales. Not to mention music sales in general go up as the year progresses. So a late spring/early summer release>>>>Feb/March release.
