The 60's doo-wop sounds fun! I always thought that Check on It had a very 60's sound to the melody, and it did so well for itself.
I am not bothered at all that the album could be released as early as April. I think that is the best decision. If you think about it, there is going to be SO much news about her in Feb and it'll trickle into March. I wouldn't want it to feel like she's just releasing everything at once. And also this way, she is able to release music in February and see how it plays out, and be able to alter her album accordingly. Basically she gains a bit of control this way, doesn't get too over saturated, and has enough projects spaced out that she can be continually releasing new things.
Think about it.
Feb - Superbowl/HBO/Single/Grammys(?)/Pepsi Campaign.
March - Vogue Cover, Single promotion
April - Album(?)
May - Epic, Second single(?)
Summer - H&M Campaign, Tour(?)
And about her album being R&B, that's great. She's best when she's making music she loves. And I know she could rock any type of song, but let's let her make the music she wants to make, not the music that is in the top 5 on the charts. I want her to have success as much as the next fan, but I'd much rather her stay true to her art, and if that means making a type of music that isn't the most popular, so be it. Beyonce is a trendsetter anyway, not really a trend follower. Her lead singles never really sound like anyone else's songs. Crazy in Love, Lose My Breath, Deja Vu, Single Ladies/IIWAB, Run the World... She doesn't need pop. Pop needs her.
Also we haven't even heard the music yet. She could just be calling it R&B but it could be an entirely new style of it that has pop-influences.

Tbh I really didn't like 4 - RTW, EOT & I Care (love those songs). reason why, usually Beyonce gives u different flavors, if I wanted listen to Pop or R&B, Soft Rock or Electropop, Dancehall etc. That's why I love IASF sooo much because it had that. 4 had too many ballads and mids for me. I needed something to dance too. But of course I will support her until the end .

Well she did say "mostly" so hopefully she left some room for the folk rock-pop IIWAB sound.anyway radio is slowly opening up again,so hopefully her lead single can get some mainstream play.on a global scale IDK.

I must say I feel sorry for the fans who joined during IASF thinking it was Bey's sound when it's actually her only non Rythm and Blues oriented album. You can't blame them to expect that from her but then again DIL was a RnB record, B'Day was funk/RnB and 4 was RnB.

Okay, so let me make sure I understand. We are getting a Destiny's Child album and no new solo album? Is this correct? Also, the new D.C. songs are going to be love songs? I mean, Destiny's Child? IALS............. I.A.M. L.I.T.E.R.A.L.L.Y S.T.U.N.N.E.D.

According to her GQ article her new album will come out as early as April.
This is still good. Her DC3 single will basically be like buzz for her album. Plus she'll probably release her new single at the Super Bowl too.

Well a collab between with JT, Jay-Z and Timbaland doesnt seem too unrealistic since Bey confirmed she was working with them.
