Gaga doesn't need to be viewed as "cool" in order to be successful. Even during TF/TFM era, she was polarizing, to say the least. Gaga has never been universally loved, nor does she want to be, in her own words.

Eh, unless Gaga eases up on the gay equality stuff in the years to come (which we all know is highly unlikely), she'll probably always be viewed as uncool by straight people.
