Definitely NOT.
They just wanted to completely finish the BTW era (including the tour) before starting the new one.

It depends how they are marketed - do they both get separate but equal promotion and attention, or is the second seen as the edgier, more experimental "add-on" of sorts? With the former sales would be massive, the latter would cause just a bit less of a boost than we'd see otherwise.

I think it'd be unfair to just count it as one album then. It'd probably be an album and an EP or some deluxe etc.

Not sure about that, but I do think they're holding off announcing anything until Beyonce goes first.

Makes sense because it's much safer to go second and be uninterrupted, than have your era launch hype-bombed by someone else by going first.

A second volume would more than likely be released later around the tour time. So that would be seperate, call it a TFM if you will. The only way they can really give them attention at the same time is a double disc which would be cool. The I Am....Sasha Fierce of 2013.

Yeah but everything was leading to the album or at least the single being released in summer/autumn 2012. Then something blatantly changed (single in late 2012/early 2013), and then I got the impression something changed again (single in March?). Like, soon everyone's eyes will be on B for the first part of the year.
