People are being far too optimistic about ARTPOP's album sales, it's like they've forgotten how much album sales have declined even since Born This Way was released.

If it reaches 5m, I will consider it a success (obviously singles are another story).

3 million is far, far too low and she'll be labelled a flop worldwide.

I'll be happy with 5 million or better, but I'm hoping for it to outsell BTW. It's not actually as impossible as you may think.

On the topic of declining album sales; the streaming industry can't hold up forever with the debt it incurs and the fact that some labels hate it, and the digital industry may see a shift in allowing people to buy individual tracks. Does anyone else think it might be possible for album sales to recover in the future? This isn't the first time they've been low.

After the BTWB wouldve traveled to most major countries (if not all) by the time even the single comes out, they better back her next album better than that.

I think outselling Born This Way is out of the cards, even with successful singles. The album itself sold very well, even her haters will concede that, thanks to all of the hype that surrounded her.

It'd be hard to replicate that with less hype as she's gotten more established, and diminished sales industry wide.

All her three major releases have sold 500k+ there and BTW is actually her best seller individually. We can count on big sales from Asia.
