I imagine the album is much further along than some predict.
From what has been said, it sounded like the material was there but they were just working out the best strategy. Maybe they are/were debating over which direction to take because different tracklists create pretty different albums? Perhaps they're gauging the market as close to release as possible to determine that?
If she has two singles out before the album, she can still have 3 months to finish the album whilst the lead is out slaying.

What if she's been planning her next tour so she could announce the dates around album release this time, so hype will still be there when tickets go on sale? It could cause a delay, but at least she'd be planning her tour well
