I just thought of something: Do babies poop and pee in the womb? If so, where does it go? I mean, they're not hooked up to the mother's digestive tract, are they? There's no possible way that the waste goes out of the umbilical cord, so where does it end up? Does it just float in the mother's body until the white blood cells get to it?

A baby's first poop is called meconium. Normally this doesn't happen until after delivery but sometimes it happens while still in the womb. If the baby inhales it, it can cause breathing problems and should be dealt with immediately after birth.

Yes they poo & pee inside the mother's womb. Some babies actually eat their own poo when they're past their due date and they're called meconium (first poo of baby) stained babies. The poo & pee mixes to the mother's water inside the womb.

Thanks for the info.
LordT, thank goodness I arrived on time. I'm glad I didn't have the chance to nibble on anything in there.
