Another reason why I don't fancy Tedder.
But I CANNAWT wait for the BOY 2.0s from her next album. It's astonishing that BOY was her last slow/piano ballad single...

Dark Side is another great example... I'm thinking that if Dark Side was the lead single it would've smashed. The lead single exposure and all the promos.

He made her voice sound so angelic tho. I know Kelly likes sounding live in her studio recordings but there is nothing wrong with adding some texture to it once and a while

I completely agree.
People who overused autotune, made autotune a bad thing. I honestly prefer Kelly's voice with autotune than without it sometimes. The rawness of My December was heaven, but I would've liked Stronger a lot more if it had some/more autotune on it.

She changed her sound ONCE. And that was the transformation from R&B (thankful) to Pop/rock (Breakaway). Yes, she has some experimental songs on All I Ever Wanted but the majority is still pure pop/rock.

It's like we're twins
Not only would it have been perfect timing during the fall, but the theme transition from DS--Stronger would have been flawless.

Writing with A list writers, thinking outside the box and sticking to one genre doesn't make you generic. Ever heard of 21? Or 4 for that matter? And I would hardly call Kelly original. Being basic doesn't make you original, it makes you predictable.

I don't remember saying that, but if she wanted to stick with pop-rock..there's a lot more she can do with it than SUBG 4.0s.. Im not saying she completely stayed in pop-rock comfort zone, but I feel like she has only taken BABY STEPS into R&B or alternative rock ..
You don't have to change your sound to take risks.

I'm been so absent from the base the last few days.
Stronger is a meh album with a few highlights (Stonger, Dark Side, You Love Me, TWIO, and a few others).

Kelly doesnt need to switch to dance pop or urban or anything else. She pulls elements from other genres (like on Stronger, CMB, Dark Side) and makes it work for her sound. Why does she have to change?
She's not recreating Breakaway. She never will and honestly why should she? She doesnt need BOY 2.0. She shouldnt repeat herself or try to make sequels. She's original. She tries new things. That should be enough.

You're right. She doesn't need to recreate anything nor does she need to change the genre of her music if she doesn't want to. But the "sound" is becoming a bit predictable (at least to me and non-stans). There's much more pop-rock Kelly has yet to touch
She does pull sounds from other genres, but she needs to pull harder because the pop-rock drowns it. I'm only getting hints of different genres. Sorry

Since u Been Gone = My Life Would Suck = I Forgive You
Behind These Hazel Eyes = Don't Let Me Stop You = Let Me Down
I never said Kelly need to completely changed her sound or style. I just said I want her to think outside the box and release a cohesive album, with a specific theme like My December without the wordy lyrics, with A list writers and producers and some sort of sound of production that isn't that similar to her previous records.
Dark Side, Already Gone, If I Can't Have You and Tip of my tongue is stepping outside the box for Kelly. Stronger, Suck, Hook Up, IFY, Let Me Down and the majority of the Stronger album isn't.

That's just a dumb thing to say. A lot of the biggest hits are written by more than one person. And let's not act like Kelly is the best writer out there, cause she's far from being the best writer.

And some delusional stan thinking Kelly isn't basic. Kelly is currently the image of simplicity. Since the My December era, Kelly has been nothing but basic.

My question to people who always seem to drag Kelly is if she's so drag-worthy to you, why are you still a stan?

Maybe I wouldn't call Kelly basic, but other than that I don't see any dragging going on. Different fans want to see different directions. I wouldn't be here if it was all about who can compliment Kelly the best.
And It's better than being a delusional stan. I'm grateful this stanbase isn't like Katy's or Beyonce's that just cums over every little thing their Queen does from releasing generic radio-catered songs to releasing a $hit in the toilet.

The people who call Kelly basic only compare her singles to each other. Her discography as a whole has changed and developed
