And commercial =/= generic. The Fame Monster was commercial. I don't understand this hatred for commercial music when Gaga is a commercial popstar. And Gaga is not "above" anything, she is still a musician whose goal is and should be to appeal to everyone and sell. I don't want my fave fading away because she doesn't want to put out catchy music.
Her goal should be to remain true to her artistic vision and not compromise just because some people didn't like the direction she took with her last album, why would she backtrack when she's pushing the boundaries just for a few more copies sold?

I'm fine with amazing music with low sales. Commercial but within the line of her artistic vision is ideal though.
