Elvis Duran stanned for that song back at the iheartradio festival. He's a fan of Beam Me Up. I'm happy to see the song rising. Beam Me Up isn't a song I ever wanted to have chart success just because of a number or stats. I wanted it to have success so its beautiful words can touch and heal others like it did for Billy. If its selling because people are touched by it, then awesome!! That it was music is supposed to do. For so long, we have had hits about getting drunk, being stupid, and doing things that create kids and welfare parents. It's about time we have a song that touches people. Granted, this kind of tragedy shouldn't happen in life. It does, and it's sad. But I'm happy people have found peace in the wonderful song that is, "Beam Me Up". It happened to a Sarah McLachlan song around 9/11 as well. But that song was a previous hit, I believe. People would have found a song to play in memory regardless. It always happens.
I think "Beam Me Up" is going up because Elvis Duran (Z100) opened his radio show with it. That + people who are suffering from Friday's incident are buying it.
