- I STAN FOR TRUE TALENTS, WHO WRITE THEIR SONGS, PERFORM THEM LIVE WITH EASE, GOT GREAT PERFORMING SKILLS, PLAY INSTRUMENTS, DIRECT THEIR VIDEOS, AND KNOW WHATS GOING ON AROUND THEIR WORK NOT JUST WAITING FOR OTHER PEOPLE TO MAKE ALBUMS FOR THEM JUST TO GET IN THE STUDIO AND SING WITH THE HELP OF AUTOTUNE.

It's because they're stans too. They see another stan base, and they have to distance themselves from them in their mind to convince themselves they are above us when in reality all stan bases are equally disturbed. When you see someone go out of their way to describe how much 'worse' little monsters are then their own stan base, its coming from a place of insecurity. They've seen how horrible their own stan base has acted, and they want to pick on little monsters because of it to distract themselves and others away from the problems within their own base.
It comes down to insecurity and jealousy mostly. I'm pretty unbothered by it and it just makes me feel genuinely sorry for the insecure soul perpetuating negative monster stereotypes and ignoring the fact that these negative stereotypes exist within all stan bases

I've been dealing with the monsters for around 4 years now because of them claiming Christina was copying Gaga and trying to destroy her career. I have only seen 3 monsters at the MOST who are nice and normal. That is out of the thousands upon thousands of monsters on the Internet. It really isn't a massive generalization when people say monsters are mean. One of the problems is they're narrow-minded. If somebody says something critical of Gaga, instead of trying to have an actual conversation about it, they automatically jump to "oh you're jealous! Gaga is so successful and your fave isn't hahaha". They won't even try to open their minds and take in the criticism. And speaking of jealousy, they are really the jealous ones because anytime somebody else poses a threat to Gaga they ruthlessly attack them. See their hatred of Katy Perry when she got all those number ones or them making fat jokes about Adele because 21 overshadowed BTW and got the Grammys in the end. It's pathetic and embarrassing.

I actually agree that there is a double standard toward us but some monsters can be pretentious towards other artists and it certainly doesn't help the situation.

Are you suggesting little monsters were the only stan base pressed by Katy Perry's number ones, and the only stan base that made fat jokes about Adele, and the only stan base that was pressed by Adele's grammy snatching?

A lot of what I really see from a lot of monsters on ATRL is pretentious attitudes. I'm not saying that any other stanbase is innocent either, but theirs seems to stick out the most in that regard.
There are nice monsters, though. You just have to look harder to find them on ATRL.

Let's not say the monsters are any worse than another fanbase on here or Twitter, because I could go on here and twitter and find cases that you're all calling the monsters out on for other fanbases. Plus, if you read what everyone is saying in this thread, it's all generalisation, and every fanbase has those types of fans too - no different from the monsters.
The point is, there's no difference and all fanbases are as bad as eachother, but the generalisation that is attached to monsters excuse for other fanbases to drag the monsters, but that's ironic, because it's puts you as low as you're making the monsters out to be.
Everyone on ATRL should be less uptight about their faves. That goes for the monsters too.
