First half of 2009 anything with Lady Gaga's name on would've sold, because she was getting so much media attention because she was acting all mysterious, and wearing stupid clothes. Look how much the basic-ass Just Dance sold for goodness sake!!
Call Me Maybe was a bigger hit than anything Lady Gaga has ever, or will ever, release. It was a phenomenon, and Lady Gaga will never get that much impact with one of her SONGS.
Call Me Maybe will be remembered for decades. Lady Gaga's songs would flop if they were released by a lesser-known artist.
Carly was the textbook definition of a 1.5 hit wonder. I don't think anyone will remember her (or CMM) in a years' time, tbh

She really couldn't deliver w/the 2nd single. Good Time was such a costly mistake.
People will always remember Call Me Maybe but I'm not sure if they will always remember her name.
Tsuko, I remember you saying California Gurls was a bigger hit than Bad Romance so I will just ignore you lol. No offense, you are entitled to your own opinion
Anyhow, I hope Tamar can book a promo slot so her song can get a boost again!
Gangnam Style completely overshadowed Call Me Maybe. So in terms of recent one hit wonders who will be remembered years down the line, that song stands more of a chance. Compare its Youtube views etc.
But it's so much easier to use CMM in conversation. I mean, you can't go around to people just randomly shouting "Gangnam Style;" they would look at you weird. But if you said "call me maybe," that would make sense.
Also, I think it's much easier to hate Gangnam Style, but I'm biased. Radio never totally hopped on it because they knew there were people like me who would switch the dial.
And going by Youtube views means Bieber's Baby will be an iconic song for the ages.

Is there a way to change it (on iTunes 11) so that it lists albums by artist but in the year they were released...?? I don't know if this is in the right thread or not though
I just saw "Gone, Gone, Gone" by Phillip Phillips used in a commercial for Radioshack!
He's coming for another hit
His album is absolutely brilliant! I've played it in full everyday for the past week and a bit. Flows so well, while also having multiple standout tracks.
