While I do agree "Die Young" probably won't hit #1 due to "Diamonds", I don't agree with the latter part of your post.
With this promotion, she will have undoubtedly increased in overall chart points. The unchanged position is deceiving - "One More Night" and "Diamonds" are just a lot higher in overall points, so despite increasing, it looks at if she's stagnant. I would not be surprised if she moved up to #2 next week.
