5.0 out of 5 stars Her pro-Ron Paul tweets are her Greatest Hits of all time!, November 19, 2012
By Gilby Mitnick III Jr. (Mom's Basement) - See all my reviewsThis review is from: Greatest Hits-Chapter One (Audio CD)
At first, I have to admit that I did not like Kelly Clarkson as much as undoubtedly the greatest singer to emerge from American Idol, which would either be Justin Guarini or that Sanjaya female. However, since her support of libertarian Ron Paul last year--which includes support of positions such as abandoning Israel and smoking more dope--I have become probably the world's greatest Kelly Clarkson fanboy because I think that what makes a songstress really excellent is when she starts to politicize her music!!
I want to be especially respectful to Ms. Clarkson here, but it may be a bit premature for a Greatest Hits CD, no? I mean, sure her immortal and highly intelligent songs like My Life Would Suck Without You and Catch my Breat (sic) catapult her to diva royalty that eclipses even the late, okay Whitney Houston, but maybe she should wait until one of her songs actually becomes the theme of a WWE event before she puts out a Greatest Hits collection! Who's with me on that, huh?! I knew it!
Still, I bought this CD because a lot of its songs are inarguably some of the greatest contributions to American music since Elvis Presley shook his hips and curled his lip. I mean, I can't even begin to excitably tell you how many times Behind Those Hazel Eyes got me through many long, torturous hours of doing homework. Similarly, I can't even express to you how Since U Been Gone steeled me through absolutely hellish times in my life, such as when my pet goldfish died, and I had to flush his a/s/s down the toilet because he started to smell.
Clearly, it goes without saying, now that I have briefly thought it over, that Ms. Clarkson has indeed put out an impregnably solid body of musical work that totally justifies this Greatest Hits CD. In fact, thinking about this whole issue even a little bit harder and longer, I am starting to get really, really furious that her evil, probably un-libertarian, record label refused to put out a Greatest Hits CD sooner than today! How dare they! Clearly, Ms. Clarkson deserved to put out a Greatest Hits CD from the first second that she was named Ms. American Idol 10 years ago. Sheesh!
