it lets you view track info, so you can view composer credits on a song without having to buy it. also, in theory, if snippets have been uploaded but not made available in the store yet, you can double click the song titles and the snippets will play.
all this stuff worked for Unapologetic I think because they were really close to just making it all public, but the column browser just let us see the composer info and hear the snippets a little early.
I've tried for a bunch of other unreleased stuff on the store and there have never been snippets and it usually just says "N/A" under composer info.
