Well Marilyn monroe would be the perfect closure for this pop phase with PF:RR
HY and IL might get some crossover appeal like Moment for life, right thru me etc.; however, they are mainly to dominate urban radio so that she becomes a staple on there again. She isn't dong that many features anymore and they are instant smashes like they were in 2010/2011.

She's not going to stop the dual thing which is why Freedom is released to radio when VVV is blowing up.

I hope during her third album she can release more hybrid songs.
For instance,
Perfect hybrid 1st single for pop, rhy, and urban (Moment for life)
2nd single more urban (Did it on em)
3rd single more pop, rhy, and urban (Superbass/Va va voom)
4th single more r&B (Save me, fireburns, catch me)
5th single more pop, rhy, and urban (Dominoes)

If she hated the song, you would THINK she would have NOT included it on the Re Up track list and just given all the attention to The Boys/Freedom after PTA was finished. Which would have been perfectly fine. I would have actually preferred that - to just stick with one theme.

It's the fact that it's released and being paid dust that is annoying.

Very solid points.
I kept in mind that the video was shot December 2011 and it's almost a year later. I still think the strongest potential would have been a 1st or 2nd single, though.
I know how well it's doing. I keep tabs on radio and itunes often. I just don't think that the AMA performance will make the song #1 or turn it into a smash. This song is smashing already...and with a mediocre video at that.
I'd be pissed if they were trying to perform Freedom and the boys.
I want Freedom to start picking up steam it should get more and more adds since the album is coming out Monday.

it needs to. her next album she needs to just release one song at a time and promote the song properly. i never want her to do dual releases ever again. if a song only succeeds on pop, oh ****ing well. if it only succeeds on urban, oh ****ing well.

It's also a great way to expand her audience. The title alone will spark interest and once people realize that she turned MM lyrics into a song and listen to the message it should go great.

I hope the video addresses some of the mistakes she's made and the pain she's been through moving past the backlash.

@slw Maybe we should just see this as a good thing. Let Freedom get make into the Top 20. That way she can have 3 songs slaying at one time (BAAB,VVV, and Freedom). If not, it will be another Starships/RBMS/BITT thing where the 1st overshadows the other.

She claims that she will make MM special so she will wait until VVV does its thing and go in on MM.
I'm starting to pick up that something went down between her and Dr. Luke and she doesn't want to use him anymore...rather go with Redone. Britney had a similar situation where Dr. Luke did something shady and she went against the obvious smash Inside out and went with the quirky non radio friendly Criminal (it was good but Inside out > Criminal.

I have no idea. I think she lied. I think it was always in there plans to have VVV not Marilyn Monroe first. Nicki is confusing. Stanning for her is a tough job, but we make it.

To me, she took a risk and it paid off but nearly as well she assumed it would.
She tried the dual thing and I don't think she will do it 3rd era. She's doing it with the RU because she wanted new urban songs to go on radio while closing out the pop side. All she needs it 2 urban hits to get her back to where she was before superbass.
