She's a 13 years old kid, she's not some old rocker, she has no clue of what she truly should be doing.
Not to mention she's AWFUL when she screams/belts/whatever, so doing any REAL rock songs would send her home instantly. Britney knows very well what she's doing, considering every single other judge has agreed Beatrice is better when she uses her "soulful" voice.
