Pop-dance music is way more commercial globally than country. #Fact

Damn, this whole thread has been about who's sold more, which really doesn't matter.
Neither of them have done anything iconic, game changing, or whatever ****ed up verb you wanna throw up there to make them look more than just simple ass pop stars.
The answer's simple. Rihanna's road to success was a lot less probable than Taylor's, and ****, even if you don't like her music (which I kinda do, sometimes) it gives people from a certain region a little bit of hope.
Rihanna's the answer, b.

Rihanna is more versatile and diverse. She has a song about everything.

She's selling tons of albums so I guess her formula works.

Rihanna, easily. No one is out here following in Taylor's foot steps musically, fashion wise, or socially. She sells more albums than Rihanna (In the U.S.) but she doesn't affect the Pop culture the way Rihanna does.

THIS and if ur going by just record sales adele is micheal jackson......................also i mean its kinda like comparing shania twain to janet or madonna........no contest

Taylor IS a WW star.
She sells out shows everywhere, she's HUGE in Australia, NZ, Canada, Philippines (and other parts of asia).
And she's currently becoming more of a world-wide force, WANEGBT was a smash WW and Red charted VERRRY well outside the US.
She has many certified albums too.

WANEGBT was pop though, yet you all claim Rihanna is more commercial because she's a pop singer

No I'm not. I'm just stating the facts. Rap, Hip-Hop, and R&B are not as commercial as Country. Where are the underground Country artists??? My point has been proven.

Taylor brought a whole new generation to country music, she made it cool. Because of Taylor, 10 year old girls are asking for a guitar for christmas, so that they can start writing their own songs. She wrote an ENTIRE album by herself, that's definitely something that's going to be remembered 40 years later.

So you're expecting Taylor to control her feelings (which lead to songs) just to satisfy a bunch of people who didn't even listen to her discography?
I'm sorry, but she's a songwriter, and song-writers sing about what they live, they don't control it just like you.
Sure Rihanna's lyrics are gonna be diverse, she works with different people, and those people have different lives= diverse lyrics.
Taylor covered a variety of subjects with her songs, it's enough, she doesn't have to sing about clubs now to be considered diverse.

Bottom line is, Taylor needs to grow up.
