Awww. yea Fate Zero is tons better but FZ is supposed to be a prequel so you should've watched FSN before. Many of the unanswered questions in FZ were already in FSN, like will Saber find out Kiritsugu's motive after all, or what did Archer and Kirei asked for the Grail since they won the war, or what will be the fate of Sakura? Will Saber and Archer even get a proper battle?
If you also watched it in that order you'll get some nice throwbacks, like Shirou's permanent residence as the same place as where Irisviel collapsed, the mansion where Irisviel grew up, etc. etc.
I recommend you watch FSN THEN watch FZ again

Well, i dont blame you, the anime has been so dry lately the first season was MILES better than shippuden. IDK what Masashi Kishimoto is thinking, he should have just made the first season longer and end it there. But if u wanna read it, then thats also dry.
