So if it has downgraded to a tropical storm, what does that mean for NY? The worst is over?
It's not a tropical storm. It's a post-tropical cyclone. It's just transitioned from a warm weather based system into a cooler weather based one. It's still as powerful as ever.

its eye should have made landfall by now so yea, but its gonna be a few hours before it calms down, and high tide is coming soon so dont expect it to be over. It'll be calmer by 9am tomorrow
