Re: Nav, I can't dispute what you're saying if we're talking about all-round success rather than just singles. I think Graf pips her for singles success though.
Anyway as someone said the GOAT debates can never be definitively proven but they are very interesting IMHO.

I agree, it's interesting to talk about
2012, in my opinion, is Serena's best year, even better than 2002. She's won 48 of her last 50 matches, won last 16 matches against the top 10, last 13 against top 5, last 11 against top2, 6 consecutive against world number 1, 2 gold medals, 2 slams, the YEC, 7 titles, only 4 losses, coming back from injuries, 31 years old and still schooling the young competitors. Even though she did not end the year number 1, she was the THE number 1 player (the rankings system is flawed) and we are definitely looking at the potential GOAT of all time (if she wins 2 slams a year for 4 years she has it) but she will most likely end up in second place. I can't see her playing until 35
