Well, the biggest radio artists are Katy & Rihanna and they don't really have a dedicated fanbase that request her songs on radio. Also, I doubt Gotye, Fun. & Carly stans were requesting hard
And I don't the see the average person requesting songs online when they can listen to it on Spotify, Youtube or download the song.
I think radio plays are based off the song popularity among other services (iTunes, Spotify, Youtube, etc), deals with the label and the artist's name.
But whatever, I've been requesting just in case
